Everything Tomato

  • Neighbourhood Farm 165 Blackheath Road Corinda, QLD, 4075 Australia (map)

Event Description

We've built a reputation for growing some of the best tasting tomatoes around. In this fun workshop we'll teach you the secrets to having your own delicious tomatoes to pick and eat from your very own garden.

Everyone loves tomatoes! They are by far the favourite crop on our farm. However, they can be very challenging plants to grow, especially in a subtropical environment such as Brisbane.

Over the years we have learnt a few tricks and techniques to help ensure an abundant harvest from your plants.

From selecting the right varieties, preparing your soil and planting, to pruning and feeding. With care, attention and the right techniques, tomato plants can provide you with freshest and most delicious tomatoes for months on end.

Please note, dates may change due to weather conditions and the growing season. Refunds will be given if rescheduled times aren't suitable.

  • Learn the basics of tomato plant nutrition and biology.

  • Seed selection and suitable varieties.

  • Organic soil health and preparation.

  • Raising healthy seedlings.

  • Planting, pruning and trellising tomato plants.

  • Dealing with diseases and pests.

  • And finally harvesting, cooking and preserving the bounty.

Our aim through this workshop is to share with you everything we have learnt about growing tomatoes, in a way that applies to any garden. So if you're a serious food grower, or simply a tomato enthusiast who wants to come along and get their hands in the soil, please join us!
